A carbon refractor shown here on the Mountain Instruments MI-250 (not included) designed for the TMB 8 inch f/9 APO triplet objective. This carbon fiber OTA has been wet sanded and painted with a gloss white polymer paint.

Another carbon fiber OTA for the 8 inch TMB objective. The carbon fiber on this scope has been clearcoated and wet sanded for a natural carbon weave finish.

These telescopes have 100% carbon fiber tubes and dew shields, 10 internal knife-edge light stops, active cooling, CNC machined 6061 aluminum mounting rings and an Astro Physics 4 inch Focuser. Total weight of the complete optical tube (less optics) with the 4" focuser, dovetail plates, and mounting rings is 35 pounds.
