RC Optical Systems Robotic Observatory...
This Astro Haven 12 foot clamshell Observatory was originally built in 1999 on a 10 acre parcel near USNO, Flagstaff Station and was just remodeled during the summer of 2006. It has housed many instruments over the years from 10" to 24" RCOS Ritchey-Chrétien Telescopes.
An RCOS 24RC Carbon Truss is currently installed (2007).
April through August 2006 - Remodel Observatory to accommodate an RCOS Equatorial Fork Mount and 24RC...
Due to an equipment change, we needed to remove the 24 inch diameter concrete pier, which was centered in the observatory, and construct a new pier (offset) to mount an RCOS Professional Series Equatorial Fork Mount. The new 36 inch diameter pier was offset to the South for an RCOS Professional Series Equatorial Fork mount and 24RC.
